Terms and Conditions

General

1. JJR Technologies (Pty) Ltd (hereafter called “JJR”) provides an internet service offering data, to customers.

2. JJR determines from time to time, the most suitable technologies to provide data services using the fibre network to meet its commercial requirements.

3. JJR reserves the right to change the terms and conditions as detailed herein after the lapse of the initial contract period. The current terms will be uploaded to the JJR website: https://www.jjrtechnologies.co.za/terms

4. The parties agree that JJR can cede and/or assign its rights and obligations in this agreement.

Provision of Services

1. JJR can only provide the JJR Internet service where there is a JJR network present or a 3rd Party Network Provider that has partnered with JJR.

2. JJR will only be able to provide a JJR Internet service at locations where JJR indicate at the effective date of the agreement.

3. JJR does not warrant service ability nor the accuracy or any other qualities of the 3rd party Network Provider’s coverage at a specific location therefore the provision of services will be subject to the 3rd Party Network Providers verifying the coverage details after the order has been placed with JJR.

4. If the 3rd Party Network Providers provides feedback that the address is not within the covered area after the order has been placed with JJR, we shall not be able to continue with the installation of the JJR Internet service.

5. The provision of the JJR Internet service is subject to credit vetting and the conclusion of a JJR Internet service contract with the customer.

6. The JJR Internet service fixed term agreement can only be cancelled with consent of JJR in a written agreement signed by both parties.

7. JJR does not warrant an uninterrupted quality internet service as JJR is dependent on the quality service it receives from third party providers.

8. JJR shall endeavour to maintain the network to the best of its ability.

9. A customer may not resell the provided service.

Commencement and Duration

1. The JJR Internet service contract effective date shall be the date all the parties signed the agreement.

2. The JJR Internet service contract shall remain in force for the contract period (i.e., 24 months or 12 months), where after it shall continue on a month-to-month basis, until it is either renewed for a further period or terminated by either party on one calendar month written notice to the other.

3. If any JJR Internet service is discontinued for any reason prior to the expiry of the initial period, such discontinuation, along with the migration options or alternatives available to the customer will be communicated to the customer on reasonable prior notice.

4. Any JJR Internet service contract which includes free, or discounted customer equipment can only be renewed or cancelled without any penalty after the initial contract period.

Service Offering and Pricing

1. JJR reserves the right to adjust and amend the service offering and pricing from time to time after the initial period.

2. Any adjustments or amendments to services and pricing or additional services will be communicated on 30 days written notice or such other reasonable notice period as the circumstances require.

3. JJR customers will receive an invoice via email on the 25th of the month following the bill date (1st of the month) for the contract period of 24 months, 12 months or month-to-month. The first JJR internet bill will include the pro-rata amount for the relevant month.

4. JJR Internet monthly subscription will be billed in advance.

Installations

1. The technician or approved installer will require access to the customer's premises.

2. The technician or approved installer will install the JJR Internet service in accordance with the written notification per email sent to the consumer confirming the appointment.

3. If the JJR Internet service installation exceeds the agreed installation specifications, then any additional installation expenses will be for the customer's account.

4. The customer undertakes to maintain the installation, including all equipment provided, in good order.

5. The customer may not move or alter the JJR Internet service installation and must notify JJR if there is a need to move or alter the installation.

6. The following equipment related to the JJR Internet service will be installed at the customer's premises. JJR is the owner of all the installed equipment and will continue to be the owner irrespective of the attachment:

  • An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) that forms part of the JJR fibre network or 3rd Party Network Provider.
  • A CPE with Wi-Fi capability, more commonly known as a router.
  • An optional telephonic device if voice services are included in the JJR Technologies Fibre services.
  • An optional UPS.

7. The customer gives JJR permission to configure the router for additional Service Set Identifier's (SSID's) to enable supplementary services.

8. JJR will not provide the username and password of the CPE device to the customer because the CPE device is remotely managed by JJR.

Service Interruptions

1. If a customer detects a service interruption in the JJR Internet service, the customer must notify JJR of the interruption.

2. If in the event of a service interruption in the JJR service it is found that the service interruption is attributable to the customer's actions, then JJR will charge the customer for dispatching the service team to rectify the service interruption.

Liability

1. JJR accepts no liability for any loss or damage to the property or equipment of the customer arising out of the provision, installation or maintenance of JJR Internet service.

2. JJR does not accept any liability for any loss, sequential or otherwise, damage or claim arising from the use of the JJR Internet service, including loss or damage or sequential damage due to using the internet and/or transferring any data.

Non-payment

1. JJR Internet services may be suspended without notice in the event of non-payment.

2. A reconnection fee for services that have been suspended may be applied.

3. A customer will be billed the balance of contract when the suspension is initiated due to non-payment. Failure to settle the payment immediately after services have been suspended, the customer services will be terminated.

4. On termination JJR will collect all the installed components as listed in Par 26. Any equipment not delivered or damaged will be charged to customer immediately at the cost of replacing the equipment at current prices to enable JJR to replace the equipment.

5. In the event JJR cancelling the agreement within the initial period an installation fee (formerly free) will be charged to the Customer at the current rates for Installations charged. Similarly, all activation fees paid on behalf of the Customer to third Party suppliers.

Upgrades and Migrations

1. The customer may migrate to any other JJR Internet service offer by submitting the request to migrations@jjrtechnologies.co.za.

2. The latest date that a migration request can be submitted is the 23rd of each month. Any request done after the 23rd will only be processed for the next billing month.

3. The consent to migrate a customer is entirely up to the discretion of JJR. In the event JJR will indicate the terms and conditions of the migration and if accepted by the customer constitutes a new service agreement between the Parties.

Relocation and Moves

1. If the customer wishes to relocate the location of the JJR Internet service, the customer needs to inform JJR a calendar month in advance.

2. The consent to relocate the service is entirely to the discretion of JJR.

3. If JJR will indicate the terms and conditions of the relocation and if accepted by the customer constitutes a new service agreement between the Parties.

Privacy Policy

1. JJR does not distribute any of your personal information to third parties, unless it's required to deliver the products or services requested by you.

Accounts, Payments

1. When making payments into either of the following bank accounts, customers must use their provided JJR consumer code as reference: 002406

2. Please forward proof of payment to accounts@jjrtechnologies.co.za.

3. The JJR client portal available at https://www.portal.jjrtech.co.za to log a ticket or make a payment.

1. The Subscriber shall direct all enquiries and service related issues to JJR Customer Sales and Support contact points, as defined on its website from time to time or directly by email to support@jjrtechnologies.co.za.

2. After-hours support will be available via the JJR TECHNOLOGIES WhatsApp or telephone line as defined on its website from 17:00 to 18:30, Monday to Saturday.
